Getting to Lafayette College

Lafayette is located in Easton, Pennsylvania, in the heart of the Lehigh Valley. Conference guests will find a number of arts, music, and outdoor activities within walking distance of Lafayette College. Fine and casual dining options abound in Easton, and for those who might consider bringing the family, Easton is home to the Crayola Factory and the National Canal Museum. History buffs may want to stay an extra day to explore nearby Bethlehem. There’s also plenty of live music and theater venues located throughout the Lehigh Valley, as well as the Sands Bethlehem Casino.

By Plane

Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) is just 15 miles from campus. Courtyard offers complimentary shuttle service.

By Car

Lafayette College will be on spring break during MAWCA, so there will be plenty of convenient parking available on campus. Driving will give you the most flexibility getting to and from the conference hotel and exploring the Lehigh Valley while you’re here.

For your GPS or other online mapping service, use 730 High Street, Easton, PA, as the College’s address. Below you’ll find some overview directions from major points south, north, and east of the college.

From Wilmington, Baltimore, or Washington DC

Take I-95 north to PA Exit 7. Proceed on I-476 north (formerly Northeast Extension PA 9) to Exit 56 (Allentown/Rt. 22). Take US 22 east to the 4th Street Exit, Easton (marked for Lafayette College). At the foot of the ramp, turn left and then left again at the first stoplight (Third Street, then College Avenue). At the top of the hill, take the first left (McCartney Street). Turn left at the first stop sign (High Street). Go 1½ blocks, take the second right to the parking deck, located behind Markle Hall.

From Northern New Jersey

Take I-278 west and/or the New Jersey Turnpike/I-95 north to Exit 14. Proceed on I-78 West to exit 75. Take a right turn onto Morgan Hill Road. At the stop sign, continue right onto Old Philadelphia Road. Take a slight left onto St. John Street, and continue on North Third Street through several traffic lights up to the traffic circle. Take the second turn to continue on Third Street, which becomes College Avenue. At the top of hill, take the first left (McCartney Street) to the first stop sign (High Street). Turn left. Go 1½ blocks and take  the second right to the parking deck, located behind Markle Hall.

From Western Pennsylvania

Take I-80 east to PA 33 south. Then take US 22 east toward Easton and exit at 4th Street (marked for Lafayette College). At the foot of the ramp, turn left, and then left again at first stop light (Third Street, then College Avenue). At the top of the hill, take the first left (McCartney Street). Turn left at the first stop sign (High Street). Go 1½ blocks, take the second right to the parking deck, located behind Markle Hall.






MAWCA 2019 Lodging Information

The main conference hotel for MAWCA 2019 will be the Courtyard Bethlehem-Lehigh Valley/I-78, located at 2220 Emrick Boulevard, Bethlehem, PA. The hotel operates a small shuttle bus that will make at least one trip to Lafayette Saturday morning and again returning at the end of the conference. You can call the hotel directly at 610-625-9500 and mention that you’re with the conference, or click here to reserve online at the MAWCA rate of $119 a night.

There are also a limited number of rooms available within walking distance of the college:

  • The Lafayette Inn, 525 West Monroe Street, Easton (0.5 miles from campus, 9 min. walk) is a beautiful, historic bed and breakfast with a variety of room types available. Weekend rates start at $189. Please call 610-253-4500 to inquire, and mention you are with MAWCA.

  • Grand Eastonian Hotel, 140 Northampton Street, Easton, PA 18042 (0.8 miles from campus, 4 min. by car or 20 min. walk). This historic downtown hotel has a block of 14 “King Classic” rooms available at $140/night, which reflects a discount offered to Lafayette College.
